This assignment was a photography storytelling project on your story. Moving to the US at the age of 16 as an immigrant will always be a significant moment in my life, which is why I wanted to convey my journey through these pictures.

Create a curve layer

Create a gradient fill layer for the lighting effects and set it to "screen" to blends nicely

story construction
I chose photos that reflect my hometown and photos of where I am now. The places for these photos are in Hồ Chí Minh City and Little Saigon in San Jose, California. I wanted the journey to also be reflected in the photos. So as the order goes, the wide shot of Hồ Chí Minh city landscape, and then it transitions to "small" shots in Little Saigon, where Vietnamese people have made it their home for decades, bringing in their culture and food. The title is "The 12,645km Journey" because it is the distance from Hồ Chí Minh City to San Jose. It also emphasizes that no matter the distance, cultures and homes are where we make them.
